Policies

Booking and payment

• A $50 deposit reserves your appointment and is applied to your total. The balance is due at the appointment, before collection begins.
• Prices include collection, laboratory analysis, shipping to the laboratory, and the report. Additional participants are $129 each.
• All participants attend the same appointment. "Mother included free" requires her at that appointment, because the laboratory must receive the samples together.
• Bring government photo ID for every adult. For a minor, the consenting parent or guardian brings their ID.

Rescheduling, cancellation and no-shows

• Reschedule free with at least 24 hours' notice, as many times as you need.
• Cancel with at least 24 hours' notice for a full deposit refund.
• Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice and no-shows forfeit the deposit. Everyone gets one free late reschedule, no questions asked.
• If a required participant or consent isn't available at the appointment, we treat it as a reschedule the first time, not a no-show.

After collection

• No refunds once samples have been collected and sealed. The laboratory is charged when samples ship.
• If the laboratory requires a recollection for any reason, your second appointment is free.
• Turnaround times are estimates based on the laboratory's typical processing after samples arrive. Weekends, holidays, and quality re-tests can add time. We don't guarantee a delivery date.

Results

• Results are released only to the people named as authorized recipients on the consent forms, by the method chosen at intake. The person paying is not automatically entitled to another adult participant's report.
• Legal cases receive a notarized hard copy by mail from the laboratory to the address on the chain-of-custody form, plus a PDF.
• Questions about what a result means legally go to an attorney or the court. Questions about the science are answered by the laboratory's report and its stated statistics.

Legal use

A legal chain-of-custody test follows the identification and witnessing procedures courts and agencies commonly require. It does not by itself establish or change legal parentage, child support, custody, or a birth certificate, and no privately purchased test is guaranteed to be accepted in every proceeding. If you have an open court or agency case, confirm the process that case requires before booking. California courts direct contested parentage matters to court-ordered testing.

What we don't do

• Prenatal paternity, immigration DNA, ancestry, or medical and genetic-health testing.
• Testing anyone without their consent, or a minor without a parent or guardian with legal authority. Samples from personal items are not accepted.
• Collections for friends, family, or anyone the collector knows personally. Those are referred elsewhere so the collection stays neutral.
• Legal or medical advice.

Privacy notice

Truestone Testing is a specimen collection and case-coordination service operated by AuraVenture LLC in San Diego, California. Laboratory analysis is performed by an independent AABB-accredited laboratory under its own privacy and accreditation obligations. This notice is written to meet the California Genetic Information Privacy Act (Civil Code section 56.18 and following) and other applicable law.

• Consent first. Your DNA sample and any genetic information are collected, used, and shared only with your express written consent on the laboratory's consent form. Each adult consents for themselves; a parent or guardian with legal authority consents for a minor.
• What we collect. Booking details (name, phone, email, appointment), payment through Square (we never see full card numbers), and the identification, consent, and chain-of-custody documents the laboratory's procedure requires. If you ask to be notified about a future service, we keep that email address only to send you that one notice.
• Who receives it. Our collector; the independent AABB-accredited laboratory that performs the analysis, which is identified on the consent and chain-of-custody forms you sign; and the recipients you authorize. We never sell personal or genetic information, never use it for advertising or audience building, and never disclose it to employers, insurers, or anyone else without your separate written consent or a valid legal order.
• What we don't keep. We don't store genetic results, identity-document copies, or family details in booking, payment, or marketing systems. Case documents travel with the samples to the laboratory. Report files we receive from the laboratory are kept only as long as needed to deliver them to you and to meet the laboratory's and the law's record requirements.
• Your rights. You can ask what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. On request we forward your sample-destruction or data-deletion request to the laboratory. Records the laboratory or the law requires to be kept, including chain-of-custody documentation on legal cases, are retained for that purpose only. Email admin@truestonetesting.com.
• Security. Sealed, tamper-evident packaging, overnight tracked shipping, and access limited to the people who need it.
